CHARLOTTE, NC –  A teenager found shot to death on Sunday afternoon has been identified as 17-year-old Oscar Paisano-Perez. Police were called to an apartment complex in the 1600 block of Eastcrest Drive, off of Central Avenue, around 3:30pm. Detectives found Paisano-Perez with a gunshot wound. He died at the scene. There’s no word on a motive or suspect in the shooting. This is the second deadly shooting on Eastcrest Drive in less than two months. The other one happened on September 26, 2024.  In that case, two men are charged with the murder of 25-year-old Khyre’ Grier. Police were called to the 1700 block of Eastcrest Drive around 7:30 in the morning for a welfare check. They found Grier dead from a gunshot wound. Officers arrested 49-year-old Fabio Herminio Funes the next day and charged him with murder. CMPD’s Homicide Unity tracked a second suspect, 34-year-old  Ramon Alexi Santos Funes, and arrested him in Orange County, Texas on October 2, 2024. Crime mapping shows 99 crimes were reported within a thousand feet of 1600 Eastcrest Drive over the past six months. The crimes include assault, disturbing the peace, larceny, vandalism and fraud.
