BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Goaltender James Reimer is returning to the Sabres after the team claimed him on waivers from the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday. The 36-year-old Reimer singed a one-year contract with Buffalo in July and remained with the team for its two regular season games in Czechia before getting waived. In two starts for the Ducks this season, Reimer has an .864 save percentage. Reimer rejoins the Sabres while starter Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen is day to day with an unspecified injury that factored into coach Lindy Ruff removing him before the third period of Monday's loss against the Canadiens. Reimer ranks 11th among active goaltenders with 215 career wins. He has a .910 save percentage in 503 career games.
