BRISTOL, R.I. (WPRI) — The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority announced Friday that the inspection of the Mount Hope Bridge has been extended and will continue through next weekend. The inspection will occur daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Nov. 13-15. One lane will be closed, with alternating traffic. Residents should expect delays while traveling during this period. "We understand that the ongoing bridge inspection will lead to additional delays, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause," said Lori Caron Silveira, executive director of the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority. "The inspection is thorough, and it is essential to ensure the safety of the bridge. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete this necessary work."
