DODGE COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – As the iconic white-tailed deer enter their mating season, known as the rut, a sheriff’s office in Wisconsin is warning motorists about the increase in deer on roads. In just the last 24 hours, ten accidents involving deer have occurred. To keep the community safe, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office advises drivers to stay vigilant while on the road. Additionally, for hunting enthusiasts, the sheriff’s office will highlight days that may present prime opportunities for deer stands. Fond du Lac celebrates new park enhancements with ribbon-cutting ceremonies To help gauge deer movement, authorities will implement a star rating system from one to five stars, indicating days with the most deer activity. Friday’s deer movement rating is five out of five stars. In the past 24 hours, deputies have responded to ten car-deer accidents.
