CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Two western Massachusetts veterans are being awarded home renovations by Phil Beaulieu & Sons Home Improvement. According to a news release from Beaulieu Home Improvement, Thomas Muncy of West Springfield and Adam Cutter of Chicopee have been selected as the recipients of up to $10,000 in critical home repairs in the company's annual "Veterans Project: Home Renovations for Heroes". Springfield woman selected as Veteran of the Year Muncy is a Navy veteran who was nominated by his mother-in-law, Barbara. "Tom is a dedicated family man and a hard worker," Barbara wrote. "This renovation will make a real difference for him and his family, giving them the comfort and safety they deserve." Renovations at his home on Morgan Road in West Springfield will include new windows, doors, and repairs to the handicap ramp. Repairs are set to begin on Monday. Cutter is an 80% disabled Marine Corps veteran, who was nominated by his mother, Jeannette. "Adam has always been committed to giving back, both as a veteran and now as a licensed social worker helping other veterans with mental health challenges," Jeannette shared. "This project will provide him the security and comfort his family needs." Beaulieu Home Improvement completed trim repairs on Cutter's recently purchased home in Chicopee with his 3-year-old autistic son. Applications are being accepted for next year's Veterans Project through July 31st. "We created the Veterans Project to give back to the people who have given so much for our country. It’s our way of honoring their service by making sure they and their families are safe and comfortable in their homes," said co-owners Al and Fran Beaulieu. Beaulieu & Sons Home Improvement has been in business for over 50 years and is family-owned and operated that serves western Massachusetts and northern Connecticut.
