The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) is currently on scene at the Satellite Hotel for a chlorine leak.
On Wednesday, Nov. 6 at around 10:14 a.m., CSFD reported via X (formerly known as Twitter), that crews were on the scene at the Satellite Hotel near Airport Road responding to a small chlorine leak in the basement. CSFD said crews were evaluating the building.
Chlorine can explode and create explosive products if mixed with many common substances such as household cleaners.
At the moment, everyone inside the hotel is under a shelter-in-place with no evacuation in progress at this time. Hazmat is also responding.
FOX21 News has a crew headed to the scene and will update this article once we know more.
