Louisiana man accused of child molestation and rape arrested, deputies say

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A man was arrested by the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office after being accused of raping and molesting a teen.
Byron Crowfoot, 43, was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail and charged with molestation of a juvenile and four counts of first-degree rape; victim under 13-years of age.
Sheriff Bobby Webre said detectives started investigating Crowfoot after the victim told detectives that he had "sexually abused her over a period of time from the age of six years old to eight years old."
APSO said detectives found evidence that corroborated the victim's allegations during an investigation. Detectives executed an arrest warrant and he was booked, according to APSO.
This is an ongoing investigation.
"Detailed information regarding investigations into juvenile sex crimes remains limited to ensure the protection and privacy of the victim," APSO said.
