Nov 05, 2024
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Louisiana residents have voted yes to Amendment 1 on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
The Louisiana Legislature website states that the proposed amendment on the ballot read "Do you support an amendment to require that federal revenues received by the state generated from Outer Continental Shelf alternative or renewable energy production be deposited into the Coastal Protection and Restoration Fund?"
Louisiana residents had the option to vote "yes" or "no" on their ballot for Tuesday's election.
A vote "yes" will send the funds to the Coastal Protection Restoration Fund to be used for coastal restoration and a vote "no" will send the funds to the state's general fund.
