MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A Midtown man says he left his truck running in his driveway for only a few minutes after charging his battery, but it was long enough for two car thieves to drive off in his vehicle. Scott Hill said that the same bad battery helped police recover the stolen Nissan Titan at a gas station in the Highland Heights area about 15 hours later. (Courtesy of Scott Hill) "Ironically, the battery needed replacing, and they killed it at the Mapco on Summer at Holmes," said Hill. "They weren't able to start it again." The brazen truck theft in the middle of the afternoon Monday was all caught on camera. Hill said a Tennessee State Trooper passing by the Mapco recognized the pickup from a BOLO issued for the Titan. So far, police have not released any information about the arrests. Hill said his truck was driven about 100 miles before it was found.
