New England woman killed in headon crash

NEW ENGLAND, N.D. (KXNET) — A woman is dead, and a man has been rushed to the hospital after a head-on crash on Highway 22 on the morning of November 5th.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, at approximately 9:13 a.m. Mountain Time, a Chevrolet TrailBlazer was traveling from New England to Gascoyne at an unknown speed on Highway 22, while a Dodge Ram was traveling from Amidon to Dickinson on the Northbound lane. The Chevrolet then veered into the Northbound lane of Highway 22, where it struck the Ram head-on.

Following the collision, the Chevrolet rotated and came to rest facing northeast, while the Ram came to a complete stop facing north. Both drivers were transported by ambulance to CHI St. Alexius in Dickinson for treatment.
The driver of the Chevrolet — a 58-year-old New England woman — was not wearing a seat belt, and later succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the Ram, a 76-year-old Amidon man, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.
The crash currently remains under investigation. Next-of-kin has been notified.
