LIVE UPDATES: 6:30 p.m.: According to an Associated Press survey, the economy and immigration were the top issues facing voters. 6:00 p.m.: The Portsmouth Democratic Party responded to Senate candidate Patricia Morgan’s accusation of “defaced sample ballots” being given to voters. The party said the materials were actually voters guides that were smaller than actual ballots, and that many parties and candidates use them to give to voters. 6:00 p.m.: Rhode Island Voter Turnout Tracking Update:   6:00 p.m. | Voter Turnout Tracker Update Total Turnout: 472,406 Percent Turnout: 59.6% pic.twitter.com/0ilCtwkXB1 — Rhode Island Secretary of State Gregg Amore (@RISecState) November 5, 2024 4:30 p.m.: Polls close in just hours as millions of Americans make their choice for President after a long campaign. 4:00 p.m.: Senate candidate Patricia Morgan has made accusations of voter fraud dealing with alleged “defaced sample ballots” in Portsmouth. Morgan accused State Rep. Michelle McGaw of handing out the ballots outside a polling place. Both the Secretary of State’s Office and Board of Elections said the alleged ballots are not official ballots. 3:30 p.m.: A man was arrested by Coventry police for allegedly “causing a disturbance” at a polling place. The man was accused of being confrontational to voters and polling staff. He was charged with disorderly conduct. 3:15 p.m.: ABC 6 Chief Meteorologist Geoff Bansen said the temperature  is on track to tie with Election Day 1936.
