(WFRV) - With the NFL's trade deadline coming up at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, teams are getting active in the trade market, and the Packers are trading one of their veteran defensive players. According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, the Packers are sending pass-rusher Preston Smith to the Pittsburgh Steelers in return for a 7th-round draft pick in 2025. The Packers announced the deal shortly after 3 p.m. Former Packer and Super Bowl XLV champion John Kuhn released from Wisconsin radio gig The 31-year-old has been with the Packers since 2019 and has recorded 44 sacks in Green Bay to go with 42 tackles for loss and 96 quarterback hits. The move will allow second-year pass rusher Lukas Van Ness to get more snaps as he continues to shine on the youngest team in the NFL.
