BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A 70-year-old man was killed early Tuesday when the Jeep he was driving veered into the opposite lane of Hageman Road -- directly in the path of a big rig, according to California Highway Patrol. The Jeep hit the left rear axle of the trailer being pulled by the truck then traveled into an orchard and overturned, officers said. The crash happened at about 3:10 a.m. on Hageman Road east of Martin Avenue, according to CHP. The Jeep -- which was pulling a trailer -- was traveling east while the truck was heading west.
