MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Election Day is upon us, and depending on when you head to the polls on Tuesday, you may be dodging showers and storms.
The morning hours will be very mild and breezy, but mainly dry. Rain chances will be increasing from west to east during the afternoon and evening.
In eastern Arkansas, some heavier downpours will arrive as early lunchtime.
What happens if it rains on Election Day?
Around Memphis and Shelby County, it won’t be until early to mid-afternoon.
While our severe threat is very low, some storms may produce locally heavy rain and gusty winds.
Keep in mind though, that winds will be gusting up to 35 mph even without any thunderstorms around. In isolated spots, as much as two inches of rain may fall on Tuesday.
