Nov 04, 2024
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -- A warrant was issued Friday after a man connected to the death of a woman in 2023 failed to appear in court.
30-year-old Devonte Travier faces a felony charge of murder in the killing of Diasha Renee Fitts in the parking lot of Eagles Lodge in 2023.
Travier failed to appear in court and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Travier was originally released on his own recognizance but was supposed to appear for a hearing where his bond was potentially going to be revoked Friday.
Travier was initially charged with conspiracy to commit murder where the conspiracy results in death and court documents in his case were sealed. Prosecutors formally charged him with murder in March of this year as well as some drug charges, according to court documents.
Previously, Demaury Haywood was sentenced to 80 years in prison in connection to Fitts’ killing.
Travier trial date is set for January 21 of next year after being rescheduled.
