The city of Nampa cut down a moved a 54-foot-tall blue spruce tree on Monday morning, which will soon become the city's Christmas tree. A tree lighting ceremony is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Nov. 30 at 12th Avenue and Front Street. The ceremony will be held in conjunction with the city's "Shop Small Saturday" event. After the holidays, the tree will be turned into mulch and used in Nampa parks and trail system over the summer.
