MINOT, ND (KXNET) — The Minot Elks Lodge recently made some big contributions to several organizations in the Magic City. The Lodge received a $3,500 Gratitude Grant through the Elks National Foundation and is giving the money to assist six organizations in the community with various needs ranging from clothes to food, to free theatre for children. Some of the organizations included in the grant were the Mouse River Players Children's Theatre, Men's Winter Refuge, and the Backpack Buddies Program. How North Dakotans can fix election-induced insomnia Each organization received $500, with the Backpack Buddies Program receiving $1,000 to provide meals for children on weekends. Elks Lodge Secretary Carolyn Bodell says through the various grants the lodge has been able to get through the Elks Foundation, the lodge has been able to provide organizations in need with financial support. "So each year probably through those grants and some of our other funding we give out $12,000-$15,00 of funding throughout the community and our surrounding area," said Bodell.
