Weather Forecast: Record Warm Election Day?
Nov 04, 2024
ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) - Winds are turning southerly this evening as a warm front presses north of the region. Shy of a few spotty showers, we're generally quiet through the night as the cooling effect of darkness is largely offset by that southerly pump of warm air.
Our November 5th is likely to challenge/break records in Rochester. Tomorrow's record high to beat is 77° set all the way back in...checks notes...2022. pic.twitter.com/h0FtPJyuqF— Eric Snitil (@EricSnitilWx) November 4, 2024
Our Election Day is likely going to challenge (if not break) the daily record high of 77° from 2022. Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies will help accomplish spiking our Tuesday temperatures to just shy of 80° with no wet weather expected from poll open to poll close.
Showers will arrive Wednesday morning as winds shift to the west, marking the end of this record-challenging warmth. Highs Wednesday will remain in the 60s and we'll do 50s for highs both Thursday and Friday. While we'll lose record temperatures, the general vibe moving forward continues to favor generally milder weather through the middle part of the month (at least).
For those looking for signs of winter, your search continues. No compelling evidence the overall pattern will change much through the middle part of November with relative warmth expected to continue across much of the eastern half of the country.
