SANGER, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 46-year-old man and a 17-year-old were arrested on multiple felony charges after they allegedly broke windows at several locations in Sanger using a slingshot, according to the Sanger Police Department.
Police say on Friday, officers responded to multiple reports of vandalism involving broken windows at several locations; including a residential unit at Country Creek Apartments, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Jack in the Box, Anytime Fitness, Burger King, and McDonald’s.
During the investigation, officers say they recovered 3/8” steel slingshot ammunition at two of the affected sites, indicating the possible use of a slingshot in the incidents.
Investigators say they used surveillance footage from the city’s camera system and were able to identify a maroon 2020 Ram pickup truck as the suspect vehicle.
Officers said they contacted the vehicle’s registered owner Thomas Ramirez, at his home where they located a box of steel ammunition matching that found at the crime scenes, as well as a slingshot in the vehicle.
Officers subsequently arrested 46-year-old Thomas Ramirez Sr., along with a 17-year-old juvenile, who also resides in the home, in connection with the vandalism spree.
