South Carolina sees recordbreaking early voting turnout
Nov 04, 2024
BEAUFORT, S.C. (WSAV) – More than 1.5 million ballots were cast early in South Carolina, according to the State Election Commission (SEC).
That's the highest total of pre-election day ballots the state has ever seen, officials said.
"We are thrilled to see this record-breaking turnout during the early voting period as we head into a highly anticipated Election Day,” said Howie Knapp, executive director of the SEC. “If you haven’t cast your ballot yet, get to the polls tomorrow and exercise your right to vote.”
Early voting reaches such heights that some Georgia polls may be Election Day ‘ghost town’
