(KRON) – A firearm, not in safety mode, with ammunition was found in a traffic enforcement stop, according to the Fairfield Police Department.  A Fairfield police officer conducted an enforcement stop near the intersection of Claybank Road and Quail Drive around 2 p.m. on Friday.  There were two passengers in the vehicle. Police said they noticed an open bottle of alcohol and a bag of marijuana in the car. Fairfield PD dispatch informed the officer the driver also has an extensive history of firearm possession. A loaded and unsecured gun with 30 live rounds (pictured above) was found in the vehicle, police said.  The driver was arrested and booked into the county jail for multiple weapons charges.
