One killed, two seriously injured in Barnes County crash

SANBORN, N.D. (KXNET) — A woman has been killed, a man may be facing charges, and two individuals — including a juvenile — were severely injured after a crash on the morning of Monday, November 4th, one mile east of Sanborn.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, at approximately 8:16 a.m., a Peterbilt semi-truck was traveling south on State Highway 1 towing a trailer when it struck a Dodge headed west on Barnes County Road 22, causing both vehicles to leave the roadway. The Peterbilt came to rest on its left side facing southwest, while the Dodge came to rest facing northwest.

All occupants of the vehicles were severely injured, and initially transported to Mercy Hospital in Valley City, but the passenger of the Dodge, a 46-year-old Valley City woman, succumbed to her injuries and died. The driver of the Dodge was transported to Sanford Hospital in Fargo for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
The crash currently remains under investigation. The North Dakota Highway Patrol says charges against the driver of the Peterbilt, a 59-year-old Sanborn man, are pending.
