Correction officer arrested after allegedly smuggling drugs into Massachusetts prison

SHIRLEY, Mass. (WWLP) - A Massachusetts correctional officer is now facing felony charges for allegedly smuggling drugs into a state prison in Shirley.
Berkshire County man allegedly shot and killed his sister
Officer Roxsandra Wright resigned last month and was arrested Sunday as part of an investigation into synthetic cannabinoid-laced paper brought into the prison.
The interim commissioner for the DOC says they hold all staff to the highest standards and any behavior that compromises the safety and security of their prisons will not be tolerated.
Wright is expected to be arraigned on Monday in Ayer.
