NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — An addendum has been added to the construction and utility work moratorium announced on Wednesday. According to officials with the City of New Orleans, the update is divided into three aspects. $45M construction work to cause closures for Green Bridge in St. Bernard Parish First, applications for new construction in the affected areas need to be submitted by Nov. 12. The affected areas are pictured below. (Courtesy: The City of New Orleans) Second, contractors that have ongoing or previously approved projects, specifically in the Central business District or the French Quarter, are asked to complete or pause work by Nov. 30. Paused work can be resumed after Mardi Gras. An absolute stop to work by Nov. 30 is not required, but the Department of Public Works and city officials have to approve a demobilization and site security plan for important periods leading up to and throughout the Super Bowl and Mardi Gras in 2025.
