WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) -- The brother of a missing Winson-Salem man whose remains were found in Randolph County is speaking out.
It's devastating and disturbing news that Deshawn Clowney says he's having a hard time processing.
Jaekob Hill, 29, was charged with first-degree murder in connection to the death of Clowney's brother Thomas "TK" Burton.
Clowney says Hill and Burton knew each other for years.
"There's still a lot of questions, and we're still waiting for a lot of answers and why and things of that nature. We're still on the edge a bit, and I think we'll be that way until we know why it happened," Clowney said.
Burton was first reported missing on July 29 after being last seen at a Citgo Gas Station in Winston-Salem.
Clowney says he had recently become a first-time father.
"It's definitely a big missing piece. The most important thing we're trying to do is be there for his son Tre-Tre and his wife because he's only one ... and he'll never get that time with his father," Clowney said.
In September, Randolph County deputies found human remains on a property off Rob Cruthis Road in Archdale.
The property owner, Beau Martin, 31, was charged with felony failure to report a death.
Deputies later identified the body as Burton's.
Prior to Hill's arrest, Clowney said the weight of his brother's passing had been heavy on their family.
"It's been rough. It's been a whirlwind of emotions. Some days, you're crying. Next day, you're laughing about some of the memories, and you're just confused on how this could happen. It's just everywhere," Clowney said.
As the investigation continues, Clowney is relying on the good memories he has with his brother to keep him going.
"When his son was born, I was ... in Texas, and he had Facetimed me and was so excited for his son and would send me pictures and everything. It was such a great moment," Clowney said.
Hill has also been charged with concealment and failure to report a death.
FOX8 reached out to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office to ask about how the three men were connected, how Burton died and if detectives know what the motive was.
This is a developing story.
