RPD: 16yearold arrested with gun, drugs on Lyell Avenue

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A 16-year-old boy was arrested in Rochester Thursday, after police said they found him with a handgun and drugs.
According to the Rochester Police Department, officers saw the boy around 4:30 p.m. and knew he had a warrant from family court. They also allegedly saw a gun in his waistband.
Police said the boy ran into a store when they tried to stop him, tossing a revolver while he fled. When he was arrested, police allegedly found what they suspected to be cocaine and fentanyl in his possession.
The boy was taken to the Monroe County Children’s Center and charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and a juvenile delinquent warrant for a May arrest for criminal possession of a controlled substance.
