GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Former President Donald Trump will be at The First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro on Saturday. This is the second time this month the Republican candidate has visited the Triad. Vice President Kamala Harris rallied in Greensboro last month, bringing over 21,000 voters to her rally at The First Horizon Coliseum. With candidates focusing so much on the Triad, what does this mean for the local economy?  Greensboro City Council Member Zack Matheny says each time a candidate comes to the Triad they bring thousands of dollars with them. “Their campaign covers all the cost,” Matheny said. Each time a presidential candidate visits Greensboro, the campaign foots the bill, including security and the venue.  Harris visited a month ago, and the bill has been paid. Trump is set to visit this weekend, and the deposit is already accounted for. Meanwhile, the city also gets a cut of the check.  “The city is able to charge for parking. The financial benefit is huge ... It'll be well over $200,000," Matheny said. The impact doesn’t just stop there. Matheny thinks this could mean big things for the future.  “It's a huge marketing benefit for us that people are like ... 'Maybe we need to look at Greensboro or potentially look at our company to invest in to live,'” Matheny said. Not only are eyes on North Carolina as voters could shape this election, but they’re also on Greensboro as candidates spend the final days in the Triad.   “You’re three days before the election, and you have ... Trump coming back to Greensboro ... It puts us on an international map,” Matheny said. Matheny says Trump’s visit this weekend could bring in upwards of $100,000 to the local economy.
