(WFRV) - Despite the weather's best attempts to hinder Halloween festivities, especially trick-or-treating, the show went on in Green Bay, as local youth got to wear their costumes and earn some candy from the community. While this year's Halloween weather was certainly preferable to the snowfall from a year ago, nature certainly had its say leading into trick-or-treating hours. From mid-to-low 40s throughout the area, the wind howled on with gusts up to 40 miles per hour at night and rain early in the day. Ashwaubenon Public Safety goes ‘Ghostbusting,’ giving away candy to trick-or-treaters From video games to TV and movies, characters of all sorts were represented as the community got to enjoy the night with family, friends and of course, plenty of sweets and treats to consume. Some houses went all out with their decorations, from cobwebs to lights and some unique Jack O'Lantern patterns. Sheri Delveaux and her daughter Jocelyn were one of countless groups of people walking around collecting candy. The Green Bay residents had a clear favorite part of Halloween. Packers safety Xavier McKinney named NFC Defensive Player of the Month for October "Candy," Jocelyn said, as she dressed as Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter series. From trick-or-treating to all of the decorations on people's houses, Halloween festivities in Green Bay were a treat for all who participated.
