ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico's governor and other Democrats have responded to former president Donald Trump's comments he made during a rally in Albuquerque on Thursday. Former President Donald Trump holds campaign rally in Albuquerque Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham called the speech "rambling and incoherent" in her statement, which can be read in full below: Donald Trump’s rambling and incoherent speech today clearly showed why New Mexicans have rejected his candidacy twice, and why we’re going to do it again on Tuesday. While visiting the most Hispanic state in America, Trump continued to lobby slurs at Hispanics and defend his rally calling our Puerto Rican brothers and sisters ‘garbage.’ Today, in Albuquerque, the former president trashed the Affordable Care Act, and made it clear that his only ‘concept of a plan’ is to kick 324,000 New Mexicans off of their health coverage and jack up rates on 843,000 New Mexicans with pre-existing conditions. New Mexicans are rejecting Donald Trump’s anger, division, lies and chaos, and they’re supporting Kamala Harris’ vision of a New Way Forward with a clear-eyed, effective plan to improve the lives of all Americans. The choice is clear and I urge New Mexicans to join me in supporting Kamala Harris on Election Day, November 5. Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham Democratic Party of New Mexico Spokesperson Daniel Garcia released the following statement: Even the Democratic Party of New Mexico is surprised that Trump couldn’t draw a larger crowd just days before an election. It’s clear Trump is worried that he is going to lose this election so he’s ramping up baseless claims of election fraud and irregularities. With his campaign’s hurtful rhetoric targeting Hispanic communities and Project 2025 agenda that would eliminate healthcare and raise everyday costs on working families, Trump should have tried his Halloween tricks somewhere else.  “If Trump actually cared about New Mexicans and Hispanic families, then why does he want to eliminate the Affordable Care Act and gut Social Security and Medicare, affecting the health of thousands of New Mexican Hispanic families. Not to mention he killed a bipartisan border deal for political gain. Daniel Garcia, Democratic Party of New Mexico spokesperson
