Oct 31, 2024
A construction crew has temporarily lifted a house on a busy street in Old Town as part of a preservation and expansion project. The house is at 1274 Park Ave., close to the Park City Library and City Park. The general contractor, Chris Nelson, said the workers are putting in a foundation and footings. The plan calls for the removal of the cribbing that currently keeps the house in place, as well as the moving of the house onto the new foundation, on Nov. 11. The work includes a two-story addition on the back.Nelson said the oldest part of the house is believed to date to the late 19th century. He said crews discovered newspapers dating to 1917 in a previous addition to the original house. The interior will be redone as part of the work. The overall project is expected to be completed in the summer.Construction crews in Old Town have used a similar preservation method for years. The post Park City construction crew lifts old house in preservation project appeared first on Park Record.
