NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — New Bedford firefighters said a mother goat and two baby goats were walking on Acushnet Avenue accompanied by a dog yesterday evening.  According to officials, firefighters were concerned for their safety and with assistance from a neighbor walking his own dog, placed a leash on the mother given to them by the neighbor, and walked the goat inside the fire station.  The two baby goats followed their mother to safety. Fire crews did call New Bedford Animal Control for assistance. The neighbor was also able to secure the dog who was with the goats. The goats were placed in a fenced-in area behind the fire station until they were returned to their home, which is located a short distance from the fire station.  Categories: News
