OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - According to Oklahoma City Police, a pursuit led to an officer-involved shooting Thursday morning. Officials say officers tried to pull a vehicle over near SW 59th St. and May Ave. when the driver took off. During the pursuit, the suspect fired multiple gunshots. LOCAL NEWS: ‘Not John Wick’: Metro robbery victim issues warning after social media sale goes wrong The pursuit ended near SW 66th St. and Penn Ave. where the suspect continued to fire shots. "Officers returned fire, the suspect was hit," said MSgt. Gary Knight with OKCPD. Police say the suspect then entered a residence nearby and the tactical unit was called in. "He went inside the residence, ultimately our tactical unit responded to the scene, made entry and took the suspect into custody." Knight added. The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital. A passenger in the vehicle tried to run, but was quickly taken into custody. Officials say it is unclear why the suspect drove off during the traffic stop. No more information is available as the investigation continues.
