Former President Trump and Vice President Harris are headed West as their presidential campaigns draw to a close for events this Thursday. Trump will first head to the blue state of New Mexico for a rally at 12 p.m. MT, which will be held in Albuquerque. It’s part of the Trump campaign’s final efforts to gather support, particularly in areas with competitive congressional races. New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District is home to the competitive race between incumbent Rep. Gabe Vasquez (D) and Republican challenger Yvette Herrell. According to polling, Herrell is closing in on the incumbent’s lead, and it’s an opportunity for Republicans to further increase their majority in the House. Trump will then head to Henderson, Nevada, for a rally at 3:30 p.m. PT. Nevada is one of seven key swing states and one that narrowly went for President Biden in 2020. Henderson is just outside of Las Vegas and in Clark County, an area where Trump claimed voter systems were “corrupt” in the midterm elections, and officials rejected his claims. The former president will then head to another swing state, Arizona, for an interview at 6 p.m. MT with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson. Trump will sit for a live interview in Glendale, Ariz., for a “Hurricane Relief Benefit.” Arizona is a key battleground state that very narrowly went to Biden in 2020 and faced multiple legal challenges from Trump officials who claimed there was voter fraud. Trump’s chances in the Grand Canyon State are better than four years ago, with The Hill/Decision Desk HQ putting him in the lead by 1.9 percentage points. Vice President Harris will also spend her remaining days on the campaign trail in Arizona, where she will be joined by her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D). Their rally will be held in Phoenix, particularly the sprawling Maricopa County, which is critical to winning the state. It will begin at 10 a.m. MT. and have special musical guests Los Tigres Del Norte. She will then head to Reno, Nev. for an event slotted to take place between 12 and 6 p.m. PT. Like her Republican challenger, Harris is looking to secure Nevada’s 6 electoral votes. Harris will also attend a rally in Las Vegas, along with Jennifer Lopez. Lopez will deliver remarks at the Thursday event, expected to be focused on the “importance of voting.” The singer voiced support for Harris after comedian Tony Hinchcliffe made racist jokes about Puerto Rico at a Trump rally. She’s the latest in a superstar-filled push for Harris in the final days of the election. Mexican music group Maná will also perform.
