(KRON) -- With the election just a week away, county officials are moving into high gear and getting measures ready to take on the big night. Besides counting votes, election officials are also rolling out extra security steps to safeguard the voting process.
Surveillance cameras, sheriff's deputies and extra ballot workers are some of the policies shifting into place for election day Nov. 5.
With the countdown to election day right around the corner, Bay Area election officials are reviewing their policies.
In San Francisco, sheriff's deputies lent a hand to workers as they placed ballot boxes and picked them up for counting.
"We have about 150 coming in to work on election day, and we have been working with the FBI and Homeland Security to ensure safety," said SF sheriff Paul Miyamoto.
In Santa Clara County, election officials say they are coordinating with law enforcement partners.
There is also a resource in which you can track your ballot as it goes through the process via text alerts. The ballot tracker can be viewed HERE.
