DULLES, Va. (DC News Now) -- Officials found two pounds of heroin hidden in a shipment at Dulles International Airport over the weekend. A U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) spokesperson said in a news release Tuesday that 31-year-old Maria Jose Recinos Rodriguez of Guatemala arrived at Dulles Sunday morning on a flight from Guatemala City in Guatemala. Officers directed her to a routine secondary examination when she was referred to as a food courier. Au pair charged in Reston double murder takes plea deal CBP officers then found three packages and four smaller sleeves of a "white substance" that an officer tested and identified as heroin hydrochloride. Officers said that the drugs were hidden in three bags of coffee. Officers seized 798 grams of heroin, or one pound and 12 ounces. CBP said that the street value is around $55,000. Officers with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police arrested Rodriguez and charged her with felony narcotics possession with intent to distribute.
