ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Median home prices have increased across most of New York State, according to the latest report by the NYS Association of Realtors. The new report says prices have jumped 8.4% this year — it is now $420,000 compared to last year's $387,000. These prices have risen each month since July 2023. According to the report — the county in our region with the highest median sales price for September is Yates County at $302,500. The county saw an increase of 28.7% from last year's $235,000. Ontario County comes in second place with the highest median home price in the region. The current price for the county is $300,000, an increase of 7.1% from $275,000. Following that is Monroe County at $260,000. Below is a complete list of the median home prices from highest to lowest in the Rochester region: Yates County — $302,500 Ontario County — $300,000 Monroe County — $260,000 Wayne County — $236,250 Livingston County — $225,650 Orleans County — $222,500 Genesee County — $185,000 Steuben County — $166,250 Yates County also saw a 33.3% decrease in closed sales — the highest decrease among all of the above counties, despite having an increase in new listings, homes for sale, and months supply. All of the above counties saw decreases in closed sales and increases in homes for sale.
