EDEN, N.C. (WGHP) -- Eden law enforcement officials are searching for a missing woman who has warrants out after a dead dog was found, according to an Eden Police Department news release. On Oct. 18, Eden officers responded to a home on Washburn Avenue in Eden in reference to a missing person. While on the scene, officers looked through a window and saw a dead dog. Eden Investigators later learned that Ashley Dawn Patterson, 40, of Eden, went with a friend to Virginia and left the dog unattended with no one to care for it. After an investigation and consultation with the Rockingham County District Attorney’s Office, Detective Tyson Scales secured warrants on Patterson for one felony count of cruelty to animals and one felony county of manufacturing marijuana Anyone with information regarding Patterson’s whereabouts is asked to contact Lieutenant David Stepps or Scales at (336) 623-9755 (24hr) or (336) 623-9240 ext. 3255 (8 a.m. to 6 p.m.).
