WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — A crash on a major Winston-Salem roadway could impact your Tuesday morning commute. According to the Winston-Salem Police Department, All lanes of US 52 South have been shut down due to a crash. 2 crashes cause hours-long closure on Bryan Boulevard in Greensboro The closure is in effect at US 52's junction with Interstate 40 West. Additionally, the off-ramp from I-40 West onto US 52 South is also closed. Traffic congestion on US 52 South All traffic is currently being diverted off of US 52 North onto Waughtown Street. Footage from the crash scene shows a tractor-trailer with damage that crashed into the median on US 52. Traffic camera footage shows some traffic congestion on US 52 South as a result of the closure. Traffic congestion on US 52 South There is currently around 2 miles of heavy congestion on the highway. Police say that the road will remain closed until around 7:30-8:30 a.m. for cleanup. There is no word as to what caused the crash or the status of anyone involved at this time.
