UPDATE: SUNDAY 10/27/2024 5:11 p.m. (COLORADO SPRINGS) — According to CSPD, the little boy is safely home after his parents were contacted. CSPD said that there had been a caretaker in the home with the boy at the time that he left, but he may have been confused in the middle of the night and wandered off. CSPD confirmed that there was no criminal activity in this situation. ORIGINAL STORY: Wandering toddler found in nearby convenience store SUNDAY 10/27/2024 3:21 p.m. A child was found barefoot and in pajamas at a convenience store, prompting a call to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) on Sunday, Oct. 27, around 2 a.m. According to CSPD, when officers arrived at the 6400 block of Issaquah Drive, near Dublin Boulevard and Marksheffel Road, they learned that the little boy, who was around 3 years old, had walked into the convenience store. The child told police he had walked out the front door of his home because his parents were gone and he was scared. Officers checked the area and spoke with neighbors but were unable to locate the child's home or parents. Officers notified the Department of Human Services (DHS) who took the child.
