ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Burquenos, young and old, came together at the DÍa de los Muertos festival in Old Town, and the historic plaza was in full swing for Family Day. Family Day is just one event during Old Town's 10-day celebration for a unique remembrance of the past and the present. The Historical Old Town Association said the gathering saw hundreds in attendance, and they couldn't be happier. NW Albuquerque pond undergoing maintenance "Honestly, we want [Old Town] to be the cultural heart of the city again, which obviously, it has been for 300 hundred years, but at some point, locals have kind of seen Old Town as this place that the tourists go, but you know, this is the heart of Old Town. This is where our history is; this is where our history and culture began." The event also included live music, sugar skull dancing and face painting, paper flower making, and even a s'mores food truck for the kiddos.
