BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Drug Enforcement Administration will be hosting the 27th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26.
There will be several collection sites in, near Baton Rouge for residents to safely dispose of expired, unused, or unwanted medications.
DEA puts on the event to help prevent prescription drug misuse and decrease the potential for accidental drug poisonings, according to a news release.
DEA and its partners will be collecting tablets, capsules, patches and other forms of prescription drugs. According to a news release, syringes, sharps and illicit drugs will not be collected.
