Lincoln Police cruiser. (Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN–(KFOR Oct. 25)–Results of the Lincoln Police Department’s traffic safety enforcement project that was conducted Oct. 10 through Oct. 23. According to a news release from LPD, officers with advanced training in traffic enforcement worked across Lincoln to monitor areas with high instances of reported and observed traffic offenses.  That includes speeding, where 26 tickets were issued and one warning was given.  Nine people were cited for having no registration, four for not wearing a seatbelt, while seven others were ticketed for other traffic violations.  Only two fugitives were apprehended. The Nebraska Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Office funded a grant for this project, which allowed LPD officers to work overtime.
