BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) - A Crime Stoppers tip led to the arrest of one person in connection with a shooting that left one man dead in Baton Rouge. Anthony Torreganohayes, 18, of Baton Rouge, was arrested on Thursday, Oct. 24, and charged with first-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon. "Detectives believe Torreganohayes was hired to shoot and kill Green," BRPD said. Johnny Ray Green, 44, was killed on Friday, Sept. 13 in the 3500 block of Brady Street. Officers were called to the scene around 1:45 p.m. and found Green shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Multiple shell casings were found at the scene of the shooting. Former Central Police officer accused of payroll fraud, theft "Witnesses informed detectives that the suspect was seen fleeing the scene on a bicycle and that he was armed with a rifle," according to the affidavit. Detectives got a picture of the bike and suspect via surveillance video. According to the affidavit, a witness told BRPD that Torreganohayes "admitted to killing Green in return for receiving $2000 in cash." The same witness identified Torreganohayes in a picture as the person who was hired to kill Green. Torreganohayes was arrested for a prior incident on Oct. 1, according to BRPD.
