ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A pawn shop in Greece is set to briefly reopen Sunday amid an investigation into a stolen merchandise ring. According to prosecutors, Dominic Sprague and James Civiletti operated New York Gold Diamond Pawn Shop in Greece. They were two of the six people arrested and accused of stealing or selling stolen merchandise over the course of nearly three years. Prosecutors say between January 2022 and August 2024, Sprague and Civiletti generated around $2.4 million in revenue from about 48,000 stolen items they sold. The other four allegedly made $290,000 selling to the pawn shop. A notice on the pawn shop's website Thursday said: "Our Lawyers are in contact with The Town of Greece's lawyers and Building Code Enforcement unit. All pawns, repairs, and layaways are secured. Once we have permission from the town to gain reentry we will contact you for redemption. Our customers are very important to us and we appreciate your support and patience during this time. Updates will come very soon!" According to the Greece Police Department, the pawn shop will be open Sunday, October 27 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Any future business hours will be posted to the shop's website.
