NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The first phase of Entergy New Orleans' "Accelerated Resilience Plan" was approved by New Orleans City Council on Thursday, Oct. 24.
According to Entergy, the plan is meant to strengthen the electrical grid across the city by keeping power on for longer during storms, and restoring power faster if it's disrupted.

Following Hurricane Ida, a 10-year and $1 billion resilience plan was submitted. This first phase of the plan will cost around $100 million and be completed in 2025 or 2026. It is planned to include 65 individual projects, strengthening 3,096 structures and upgrading 63 electric line miles.
Entergy officials say that Thursday's ruling will not result in bill impacts for their customers.
