Columbia, SC (WOLO) —- In tonight’s what in the world file we pose the question how long is too long to say goodbye at the airport? Stand around and hug, maybe lean on each other, give a kissy kissy …forget that. I’m more of a let me out, grab the bag before a quick hug and kiss and a see ya later so I can get on the lane. Sound cold? Maybe. But it’s all in love. well. One airport in New Zealand has had such bad traffic delays at the drop off  in the departures area, they have put the kibosh on the ‘fond farewells.’ They say the max hug time is 3 minutes. Otherwise take a hike to the parking lot. “get a parking space.” They say a 20-second hug is long enough to release the wellbeing boosting hormones oxytocin and serotonin. Anything longer is awkward. 20 secs is a long time. Hold your breath for 20 seconds. I’ll wait. I kid, I kid, but don’t worry they don’t have the hug police at the airport, it’s just a strong, quirky suggestion.
