WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The man who pleaded guilty to shooting and killing Norma Williams, 69, in Wichita in September 2023 was sentenced on Thursday. The Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office said Daryon Boone, 20, was sentenced to 321 months in prison, which is 26 years and nine months. He pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree murder and second-degree murder on Aug. 5. The sentence comes after Boone was riding with a group of motorcyclists near the intersection of Greenwich and Central in Sept. 2023. Wichita police said that, at the time, Williams and a man were in a pickup truck on the Kellogg access road when they came across the motorcyclists. Wichita Police Chief Joe Sullivan said at the scene, one of the riders — later identified in court documents as Boone — pulled out a firearm and shot twice into the rearview window of the pickup. The man with Williams pulled into the QuikTrip, where the employees called 911. Williams was taken to a local hospital, where she died.
