Bridge inspections to begin on Rio Grande Gorge Bridge

TAOS, N.M. (KRQE) – The New Mexico Department of Transportation and Ulteig Engineers, Inc., will begin performing a routine inspection of the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge starting Friday, Oct. 25, 2024.
Traffic change happening in Bridge Boulevard project
Ulteig employees will be working seven days a week, except holidays, during the day. While they are working, the speed limit across the bridge will be reduced to 35 mph and one lane will be closed to traffic.
The inspection is expected to be completed by Dec. 31. Drivers are asked to watch out for workers in the area, observe traffic control signs, and reduce speed to the posted speed limit.
