STRATFORD, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A man was arrested after he allegedly sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl in Stratford on Tuesday, according to the Kings County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff's office says on Oct. 22, they responded to the 20500 block of Main Street in Stratford to investigate a sexual assault. After deputies conducted a preliminary investigation, they say they determined the victim was a 12-year-old girl. The suspect, according to deputies, was later identified as 19-year-old Jhonny Leonel Hernandez Jimenez. According to deputies, Jimenez communicated with the victim through social media platforms such as TikTok and WhatsApp. Deputies say Jimenez arrived at the victim's residence. Officials say he was driving a red-colored Ford Mustang, and lured her out of the residence and into the vehicle. According to the sheriff's office, Jimenez reportedly gave the victim a candy, which she ate, then she lost consciousness. Deputies say the victim received medical attention and sustained significant injuries as a result of the sexual assault. Jimenez, according to deputies, was located in the unincorporated area of Kings County and taken into custody. Deputies say Jimenez was interviewed and admitted to investigators that he sexually assaulted the victim. He was booked into the Kings County Jail on suspicion of multiple charges. Anyone with information that would assist in this investigation or anyone who might know someone who may be a victim of Jimenez is asked to contact the Kings County Sheriff’s Office at 559-852-2720 and ask to speak with Detective Vargas.
