APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – Another successful Old Glory Honor Flight wrapped up its mission Wednesday night, offering a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the veterans on board. This flight was significant, as students from the Leonardo da Vinci School for Gifted Learners contributed to the event by writing heartfelt letters to the veterans, which were read during the traditional mail call on the flight home. TakeOff North America 2024 takes flight at Lambeau Field "I cried… I couldn't believe it, it was wonderful," said William Gengler, a U.S. Army veteran. "I hope that all the veterans watching get a hold of the Old Glory Honor Flight and become part of this because it is a wonderful thing." Several teachers from the school also participated as guardians, accompanying the veterans on this memorable trip.
